Garage Door Springs:
Broken garage door springs render your overhead door inoperable! The spring retains the energy needed to open the door, and gravity provides the energy to close it - tempered by the resistance of the spring. Even a single wide builder-grade door can weigh nearly 100 pounds - and without the spring assist, it will feel heavier when you try to lift it.
There are two general types springs - torsion and extension. Our service trucks carry a variety of both types. When you call for service, the service writer will ask you a series of questions designed to enable the service technician to select the most likely needed spring or spring set. Unlike some service providers that send a "diagnostician" to determine what you need, then return a day or more later with those materials, we try hard not to waste your time or ours by having the materials needed to complete the job the first time. However, there are situations that require a site check before a replacement spring can be fabricated - these would included obsolete proprietary spring systems, and replacement springs for doors that have been "faced" with siding or other materials.

Garage door cables:
If the cables attached to the bottom of the garage door break, the door is not likely to open. If it continues to open, it will stress the electric garage door operator (or the human providing manpower!) A frayed cable should be replaced as soon as you see that it is frayed. If it breaks during travel, it will fall - and it is likely to fall quickly. Our service technicians carry a variety of cables for replacement on your overhead door.

Garage door openers:
A malfunctioning garage door operator is a major inconvenience. If it won't close, or won't open in the manner it is supposed to, it becomes a hassle and a bother rather than a convenience as it was designed to be.

The most common complaint regarding garage door operators is that the operator won't close the door unless someone stands at the wall control holding the activation button down until the door reaches the floor. This is almost always due to the safety reversal sensors being out of alignment. Check those first, before you call for service. If you line them up, and things work smoothly again, you've just earned the honorary title of garage door technician. If that doesn't seem to be the problem, call our office to schedule service.

Other repairs:
There are several other repairs that need to be made periodically on garage doors and garage door operators. Sometimes hinges or brackets get worn or cut through. Sometimes the top section sags so badly that it won't open. If the door has lost partial tension, it may be jammed at an angle - and it won't open or close anymore. We can fix all of these things and more, and usually the same or next day.

Replacement Panels:
Did the door hit the car and lose? Hey - we've heard it all so don't worry about making up an excuse. A replacement panel can be a cost effective repair solution if the damage is confined to a single panel. The unit cost of an individual panel is more than that of a panel as part of a whole door, so it is a good idea to get pricing both ways.

Specialty Counterbalance:
Want to use your garage for work space but the garage door tracks are in the way? Have a high ceiling and your door looks like it's suspended from Erector Set parts? We can set new track and counterbalance systems to provide maximum interior clearance - freeing up valuable space to put to productive use. High lift does just that - lifts the door higher before the track radius. Follow-the-slope follows the ceiling contour. Vertical lift takes the door straight up the wall. Split torsion can hide the counterbalance from view through a transom.
