Important Notice To Homeowners:

If you have an insulated steel garage door that was originally covered against rust and finish deterioration under a Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty, please be aware that most manufacturers will not honor that warranty if any part of the door has been submerged in flood water.

If you are filing a claim with your insurance company for other storm related damage, and your door sat in flood waters, it is important to file for the cost of a replacement door at this time.

Flooded doors rust out from the inside due to moisture trapped between the insulation and the steel skin. Such doors will eventually become structurally compromised, and manufacturer warranties do not apply as the deterioration is due to flood damage, not manufacturing defects.

It is also important to note that the safety sensor eyes on an electric garage door opener may work for a short period of time after being submerged but internal corrosion will likely develop and cause eventual failure.
